Fussy, anxious, gloriously pedantic
Jon Richardson is the guy who will absolutely lose his mind over the wrong way to pronounce 'onion' and somehow make it the funniest ten minutes you've heard all year. He's built a whole comedy persona around being fussy, anxious and hilariously particular about the world's smallest details, and it works because he commits to it completely rather than winking at the audience.
What makes him such a joy is how relatable the neurosis is — that voice in your head that gets irrationally annoyed by mess, small talk or people doing things 'wrong' — he just says it out loud, louder and funnier than you ever could. His material on marriage and domestic life adds a warm, self-deprecating layer that keeps the grumpiness from ever curdling into meanness.
If you like your comedy precise, a little pedantic and packed with perfectly-timed exasperation, Jon's your man. He's been doing this a long time and it shows in how tight and controlled his stand-up is.
